Editorial Reviews

Review
For almost 10 decades the Shooter's Bible has been the favorite reference guide of millions of Americans seeking definitive information on the latest products, specifications and up-to-date prices for thousands of firearms and related items. This publication is fully illustrated with hundreds of detailed color and black & white photographs and contains current ammunition ballistic tables, extensive charts of currently available bullets and projectiles and an impressive selection of informative feature articles on subjects ranging from hunting and shooting to firearms technology and history. -- Ron Kolodziej, Amsterdam Recorder, July 8, 2007

I have been told it is the most-saved outdoor publication of all time. You just don't throw away a Shooter's Bible. -- Don Lewis, The Leader Times, November 16, 2007

Of all the things I enjoy about the Shooter's Bible is the very complete list and photos of firearms and manufacturers. Add to this sections on ballistics and you have a great book for the hunter. -- William H. Chaffee, The Laurens Sun, April 24, 2008

Since 1924 more than 7 million copies of Shooter's Bible have been sold cementing the title as the world's standard firearms reference book. If you wanna know about a gun, look it up in Shooter's Bible. My gunsmithing, wildcatting, varmint popping, bullet pouring Uncle Floyd used to repeat that phrase like a Mantra. The first SB I read was dobbed with gun oil, bent pages, rips in the cover and a permanent position on the corner of my uncle's loading bench. When ever I pick up a copy of SB, I still get flashback visions of mountains of .38 Special wad-cutter bullets, coffee-cans of brass, and metal cans of assorted Hogdon and Herter gunpowders. Stoeger is now owned by Benelli which markets some of the finest firearms on the planet. To their credit, however, the Benelli folks have left intact the creditability factor that has made SB the uncompromised industry-wide reference book that it is. The 99th edition includes 200 full-color plates of new guns and products, and the usual up to date prices and specifications of thousands of firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns, black powder) and shooting industry products. Where else can you find out that a Smith and Wesson Model 442 is a double-action revolver with rubber grips, 1.8 inch barrel, weighs an ounce under a pound, shoots .38 specials, chambers 5 rounds and retails new for $498? While firearm descriptions and info are the backbone of this bible, it also covers in detail spotting scopes, binoculars, bullets, factory ammo, powders, ballistics, sights, holsters and reloading equipment. If it involves shooting, SB has it covered somewhere in those 576 pages. I can't imagine a hunter, shooter, or collector who doesn't own a copy of SB. This year's 99th edition is, in my opinion, the 99th most indispensable reference book in a row. -- Terry Sheely, The Reel News, September 2007

From the Publisher
June 2008 will mark the release of the landmark 100th Edition of the Shooter's Bible. Published annually -- and in some cases bi-annually -- the Shooter's Bible began its existence in 1924 as the mail-order catalog of the Stoeger Arms Corporation in New York City. By the time it was dubbed the "Shooter's Bible" by a pleased customer in the 1940s, the sales catalog had become the premier firearms reference guide and "dream book" for generations of American sportsmen and sportswomen. Please join Stoeger Publishing in next year's 100th Edition of the Shooter's Bible and a celebration of more than three-quarters of a century of service to America's shooting and hunting public.
