About the Author
Patrick Mediate, M.Ed., CSCS*D, is a physical education instructor and track and field coach at Greenwich High School in Greenwhich, Connecticut and is also a personal trainer. He has served as Vice President of Health for the Eastern District of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance and presently sits on the Board of Directors of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Avery D. Faigenbaum, Ed.D., CSCS, is an associate professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at The College of New Jersey. He is a leading researcher and practitioner in the field of strength and conditioning and lectures across the country to fitness and sports medicine organizations. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Faigenbaum has published over 100 articles on fitness and conditioning and in the author of two books.
